Prognosis: Poor
Major Google SEO Ranking Factor:
User Experience, UX
So you have an antique website: ugly by current standards, with confusing page navigation, and/or different page navigation on every page. As well as other design obstacles to good User Experience.
But, you did some research and homework and got the Site Title, Site Description and on-site SEO updated. Then, the site was submitted to search engines.
Does this mean that your site will now begin appearing in Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) for the info in your updated Site Title and Description?
Maybe. However, just because your site SEO was re-worked and the site submitted to the Search Indexes does not mean your site will now appear in relevant search queries.
Search Engine Ranking Factors
There are over 500 factors used in the Google Search Ranking algorithm. Some of the major factors in 2014: Site Title, Site Description, Site Navigation, Site Design, Site Text Content and User Experience UX. Note: this list is only a quick overview of important search ranking factors.
First Page Ranking in Search Results
So, let’s say your site site has updated 2 of 5 major elements used in Search Ranking. No one can guarantee a Page 1 Ranking in Google Search. But we do know what Google looks for and wants for websites that rank high in search queries.
If the results of on-site SEO updates alone are not meeting expectations – you need to consider the other factors involved in the search engine indexing and ranking for your site.
Those additional search engine ranking factors all relate to Website Design:
Site Navigation, Site Display and Presentation, Site Text Content and User Experience UX.
